What we collect
- Daily push subscribers: your email address and preferred language.
- Members who sign in with Google: the email address and name Google shares, the name, company and job title you enter when applying, your application status, and how many times you use the tools each month. We never see your Google password and cannot read your Gmail, Drive or other Google data.
- When you use the tools: the addresses you enter and the results. Results for the same address are kept for a while (up to 90 days for addresses, 180 days for plant carbon) so repeat look-ups are faster; these stored results do not record who asked.
Why
Only to send the digest you subscribed to, to review and open access to the tools, to keep monthly usage within limits, and to email you about your application. We do not sell, rent or share your data for marketing.
Services that handle your data
- Vercel and Upstash: host the site and the database that holds the data above.
- Google: sign-in; addresses go to Google Maps to find coordinates, and coordinates go to Google Earth Engine for plant carbon.
- TBiA, TaiCOL and GBIF: receive coordinates for species searches, never your personal details.
- Gmail or Resend: deliver confirmation emails, the digest and notifications.
Cookies and browser storage
Signing in sets one cookie that keeps you signed in for 30 days. Your language choice is stored in your browser. The Google sign-in button uses Google's own cookies. We use no advertising or tracking cookies.
Seeing, correcting and deleting your data
Every digest has an unsubscribe link that removes you right away. Members can turn the daily push on or off on their account page. To see, correct or delete your member details, email canopyesg@gmail.com and we'll handle it within 14 days.
